Compatibility

FileFriendly works on Windows 7, Vista, and XP in conjunction with Microsoft Outlook 2007, 2003, 2002 or 2000.  It is not yet supported when Outlook is used with an Exchange Server.

Problems Accessing Outlook

Sometimes an Outlook postbox (where Outlook store's its data) can appear to be working ok but is indeed partially corrupt and as such FileFriendly will not be able to access it. The scanpst program that came with your version of Outlook can potentially fix this.

If you are using Outlook 2003 or earlier you should find the program at:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\MSMAPI\1033\Scanpst.exe

In Outlook 2007 the scanpst program is found at:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12 or
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office12

To find the location of your Outlook data file(s) within Outlook right click as follows on each highest level folder name you find, for example:
‘Personal Folders’ > Properties > General tab > Advanced
‘Archive Folders’ > Properties > General tab > Advanced

Backups

Whether or not you use FileFriendly backing up your Outlook file(s) is always a good idea. If you use Outlook 2007, 2003 or 2002 Microsoft offers a free back up tool, you can download a copy from here.  Instructions on how to use it can be found here.
